This particular "Update" action is different from the "Update Financials" action described in the topic Update Financials in Effective Date.
This "Update" action ensures that all tables with a "SetupEffectiveDate" property are set to the correct Effective Date based on the defined dates. In other words, within the selected Effective Date, this action looks for any records that fall within the date range, and re-assigns the items to the correct Effective Date. As part of the process, it will also recalculate the financials to ensure the tax configurations are correct, but will not update other properties such as charges, costs, etc.
While you may use the "Update Financials" action regularly when making changes to setup costs, prices, taxes, and availability, you will rarely or perhaps never need to use this "Update" action. You may need to use it once as a corrective measure, and perhaps for changes to taxes that need to be recalculated, but this is typically a rarely used action.
Follow these steps to update an Effective Date:
1.Select the relevant Effective Date from the drop-down in the upper left corner.
2.From the Modify drop-down menu, select Update.
