Standardized Data Entry

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Before starting EventPro Setup, you may want to confer with other users to discuss standardization of data entry.

The appearance of your data may become important later when you print and distribute reports to clients, attendees and suppliers. Standardizing the information that will appear these reports will make the reports appear neater, better organized, and more professional.

For example, you may want to discuss the following elements:

Capitalization: Whether you will typically capitalize all words in a phrase or just the first word, e.g. Special Event or Special event, Prime Rib Buffet or Prime rib buffet.

Punctuation: Whether and how to use commas, periods, and dashes.

Item Codes & Descriptions: Determine a general format for item codes and descriptions, including the type of information you want appearing in reports.

Notes: While you are able to choose a Rich Text Default Font Color in General System Settings, you may want to decide when or whether you will use other fonts, bold, italics, underlining, or other font formatting in the various Notes areas of setup.

It's completely up to your organization how important these various formatting issues will be.
