Under Attendee Setup, you can define both Function Rates and Registration Group Rates. These Rates may later interact with each other, depending on how you manage Attendee Registration at your organization.
Registration Groups (a.k.a. Registration Packages) are use to track function attendance at events. Typically, a Registration Group will be set up with multiple Functions. For example, you may have a Registration Group called "Gold Registration Package", which contains the functions "Session 1", "Session 2", "Lunch" and "Session 4". You can determine whether or not the functions are optional, i.e. if attendees select a registration package, whether they can choose the functions they want, or are committed to a certain set of functions.

You can charge for registration at the Registration Group level, the individual Function level, or both.

With the above example, you could charge several different ways:
•You could set one overall Rate for the entire Gold Registration Package, so Attendees registered for the package would pay $400 to attend all the functions.
•You could also set a rate for each individual Function, so that Attendees registered in the Gold Registration Package would pay only for the charged/selected functions. An Attendee selecting Sessions 1 and 2 would be charged the rate of $200.00. An Attendee selecting all sessions would pay a rate of $300.00.
•You could also charge at both levels - Registration Group and Function - which can result in several different charge configurations.
oExample 1: The Attendees pay the overall rate for Gold Registration Package, plus the rate for each selected, charged Function. An Attendee registering for Sessions 1 and 2 would be charged the rate of $600.00 ($400.00 for the group + $100.00 per session). An Attendee registering for all sessions would pay $700.00 ($400.00 for the group + $300.00 for the functions).
oExample 2: The overall rate for the Gold Registration Package includes attendance to Sessions 1, 2 and 3, but if the attendees want to attend the Lunch, that incurs an additional charge. Attendees registering for just the Sessions would pay $400.00, while Attendees registering for the Sessions plus Lunch would pay $420.00.
Therefore, depending on how you plan to set up Attendee Registration at your organization, you may require either Function Rates or Registration Group Rates, or both.
Note: These are just a few examples of how Attendee Registrations can be set up. You have many options for adjusting the Function Rates and Group Registration Rates to suit the needs of your events. For example, you can set up Table charges as well as individual charges for Function Rates, and you can set criteria for applying rates, such as Attendee Type, Account Categories, and # Days in Advance.
